History of the Artifact
Emperor Hadrian, was born in 76 AD, he was one of the most significant rulers of the Roman Empire. He ascended to the throne in AD 117 after the assassination of his predecessor, Trajan, and his reign lasted for 21 years until his death in AD 138.
Hadrian was a skilled military strategist that led several successful campaigns, including the suppression of the Jewish revolt in Judaea. He was also known for his exceptional leadership skills and architectural vision. He commissioned many impressive buildings, including the Pantheon and his sprawling villa in Tivoli. However, his most notable architectural accomplishment was the construction of Hadrian's Wall in England. This massive fortification that stretched across 73 miles was built to protect Roman territory from the barbarian tribes to the north - it remains one of the most impressive engineering feats of the ancient world.
